We are live! (And how to help)

posted  about 2 years  ago by  Gerret

The site is now published, and we’re starting out with eight trees. I’m hoping for plenty of photo contributions in the coming weeks and months, so that we can represent more of the trees here!

If you like this site and feel grateful to the medicinal trees, then there are several ways in which you can help:

  • Photography: I am looking for high-quality, high-resolution, original photography of other medicinal trees that grow in the Amazon. If you have some, please consider contributing them, and we will add them on the site.
  • Art: The original idea was for each tree page to include one piece of original artwork that depicts the tree’s spirit. I haven’t so far been able to find an artist who can and wants to do this, so we’re using stock images instead of original art work. Are you an artist, and do you have a personal relationship with these tree spirits? Then I’d love to see your renditions of the tree spirits and maybe we could use them on the site.
  • Web Designer: If you’re a professional web designer, know your way around git, CSS, and RoR, please consider lending a helping hand. I’m not a designer and can’t make anything look good online. I need help…
  • RoR developer: This site is made in RoR and runs on Heroku. Its pretty much done at this point, but maybe there’ll be new features down the road. If you’re a professional RoR developer, please consider helping me with this site.

You can get in touch with me via the contact page.

In love and medicine,
